About Yuki
Yuki is an accounting platform built to simplify financial management for business owners and financial professionals. Powered by self-learning automation, Yuki streamlines processes like bookkeeping, reporting, and tax management. The Yuki assistant app is a mobile extension of the Yuki accounting platform that enables users to manage bookkeeping, reporting, and invoicing on the go.
Business challenge
The Yuki app needed a redesign to bring the UI to the next level, while enhancing scalability, usability, and the overall user experience. The goal was to create an intuitive mobile solution that aligned with the more advanced desktop version’s capabilities while addressing the unique demands of on-the-go accounting tasks. This redesign was executed alongside the development of a robust design system, ensuring a consistent and scalable foundation across both desktop and mobile platforms.
Reflection
Redesigning the Yuki app was a rewarding challenge. We aimed to create an app that was scalable, user-friendly, and visually inviting, while simplifying financial management for users. One of the toughest parts was crafting financial overviews and flows that worked seamlessly on smaller screens. Ensuring data-heavy financial graphs remained clear and readable on mobile devices required careful thought. We simplified designs without losing crucial details, testing multiple iterations to strike the perfect balance between readability and functionality. Visualizing financial data in a way that made sense at a glance was another big one. By focusing on intuitive layouts and user feedback, we developed graphs that not only looked good but also made complex data easier to understand.
Throughout the process, I learned the importance of designing with precision and intention—especially when working with something as detailed as financial tools. It was gratifying to see how thoughtful decisions transformed complex tasks into a smoother, more enjoyable experience for users..
